How we grade lenses
Every item is hand-checked, photographed and graded to one of five condition levels. Here's exactly what each grade means for lenses.
Like New
Indistinguishable from new.
Optics flawless under bright light. Glass, coatings and barrel show no signs of use. Caps, hood and box where applicable.
Excellent
Lightly used, no marks of note.
Glass and coatings clear under inspection. Barrel may show light cosmetic wear. Smooth focus and aperture.
Good
Visibly used but solid.
Cosmetic marks on the barrel. Optics may show minor dust that does not affect images. Mechanics smooth.
Well Used
Heavily used, fully working.
Heavy cosmetic marks. May contain visible internal dust or light haze that does not affect images in normal use.
Faulty
Sold for parts or repair.
Optical, mechanical or AF fault as described. Sold for parts or repair. Not covered by our warranty.
