Warranty Policy
Effective: 09 September 2026 · Last updated: 09 September 2026
1 Scope and Eligibility
1.1 Eligible fully working used items purchased by UK customers include a 12-month (1-year) limited warranty from the date of sale, as stated on the product listing.
1.2 Warranty coverage applies exclusively to the original purchaser and cannot be transferred.
2 What the Warranty Covers
2.1 Defects in materials or workmanship that arise during normal intended use, such as electronic board failures, aperture unit breakdowns, autofocus motor failures, internal shutter failures, and similar non-wear-and-tear mechanical or electronic breakdowns.
3 What the Warranty Does NOT Cover
3.1 Drop damage, impact, crushing, liquid ingress, moisture, sand/dust contamination, or storage in improper conditions are excluded.
3.2 Scratches, scuffs, paint wear, worn rubber grips, post-sale sensor dust, or internal lens fungus/haze developing post-delivery are excluded.
3.3 Battery capacity degradation, standalone consumables (batteries, caps, straps, film), and items sold under the "Faulty" grade are excluded.
3.4 Misuse, neglect, failure to follow operating instructions, or damage caused by incompatible third-party chargers or accessories are excluded.
3.5 For retro cameras using tape, film, or Super 8 (tape decks, video heads, film transports, drive belts, pinch rollers, and cassette doors), mechanical coverage is limited to 30 days from delivery. Wear on these vintage parts after 30 days is considered normal wear-and-tear or the result of improper media handling.
3.6 International orders delivered outside mainland UK are strictly excluded from warranty coverage.
4 Warranty Voiding Events
4.1 Removing, breaking, or tampering with SDS warranty seals or internal tamper stickers voids all coverage.
4.2 Opening, disassembling, modifying, or attempting repairs/part-swaps without prior written authorization from SDS voids all coverage.
4.3 Altering or erasing serial numbers, or flashing unofficial/hacked firmware voids all coverage.
5 Making a Warranty Claim and Remedies
5.1 Open a claim at sds.net/account with your order number, serial number, fault description, and photo/video evidence.
5.2 The buyer pays for tracked, insured return shipping for warranty evaluation. Approved claims must be dispatched within 14 days of approval.
5.3 Upon confirming a covered fault, SDS will, at its discretion: (a) repair the item, (b) replace it with an equivalent unit, or (c) issue a refund. Remedies carry the remainder of the original 12-month warranty.
