Pentax ME-F

The Pentax ME-F is a 35mm SLR based on the ME Super chassis, notable for being one of the first production cameras to offer TTL autofocusing. It features an aperture-priority auto-exposure system and a manual mode, using the Pentax K-mount. When used with the dedicated AF Zoom 35-70mm f/2.8 lens, it achieves full autofocus; with other K-mount lenses, it provides electronic focus confirmation via an in-finder LED system. When purchasing a used ME-F, the electronic focus sensors and viewfinder indicators should be tested for accuracy. Like many M-series cameras, the light seals and mirror damper foam often require replacement due to age. We check the battery compartment for corrosion and ensure the electronic shutter speeds remain accurate. The dedicated AF lens, if included, should be checked for smooth motor operation and internal fungus.
