The Nikon FM10 is a manual focus 35mm SLR camera designed for students and traditionalists. Built by Cosina for Nikon, it features a mechanical shutter that operates without batteries at all speeds from 1 to 1/2000 second, plus Bulb. The internal centre-weighted meter requires two LR44 batteries. It utilizes the Nikon F-mount, offering compatibility with a vast range of Nikkor lenses.
As a lighter, plastic-chassis model, the FM10 should be inspected for impact damage to the top plate and base. We check the shutter speeds for accuracy and ensure the film advance lever operates smoothly. The foam mirror bumper and light seals often require replacement in older units. The viewfinder is checked for dust and the light meter is verified against a reference source.
