Nikon F50
An accessible 35mm autofocus SLR featuring 3D Matrix Metering and user-friendly scene modes.
The Nikon F50 (also known as the N50) is an entry-level 35mm autofocus SLR from the mid-1990s. It features a unique interface with 'Simple' and 'Advanced' modes, designed to assist beginners while still offering full manual control for experienced users. It utilizes Nikon’s 3D Matrix Metering and is compatible with a wide range of AF Nikkor lenses. The camera includes a built-in pop-up flash and several scene-specific exposure modes.
Used F50 bodies often show wear on the rubber grip, which can become tacky or peel away. The battery door latch is a known weak point and should be inspected for cracks. We test the shutter accuracy and ensure the autofocus motor is quiet and responsive. Additionally, the film door seals are checked for light-tightness and the viewfinder is inspected for clarity, as dust can sometimes accumulate behind the eyepiece.
