Voigtländer Nokton 50mm f/1.5 II VM MC Vintage Line - Leica M mount
Voigtländer Nokton 50mm f/1.5 II VM MC is a compact manual-focus Leica M-mount prime with a fast f/1.5 aperture. This Vintage Line version is aimed at M users who want a classic 50mm normal lens that stays relatively small and light while still giving strong low-light capability and a shallow depth of field. It is rangefinder-coupled, focuses down to 0.7 m, and uses a 39 mm filter thread, so it sits neatly on slim M bodies and adapts well to a very discreet kit. The MC multicoating version is generally chosen for a bit more resistance to flare and a cleaner look than the single-coated alternative, while still keeping the slightly rendered, characterful Voigtländer feel many buyers want. At f/1.5 it is more about usable character and subject separation than clinical perfection, with higher contrast and crispness as it is stopped down. Used buyers should check the focus action, accurate rangefinder coupling, aperture clicks, front and rear element condition, and for haze, fungus or separation in the optics, plus any knocks around the filter thread and mount.
