The Sigma 12-24mm is notable for being one of the widest rectilinear zoom lenses available for full-frame DSLRs. It uses Special Low Dispersion (SLD) glass and aspherical elements to maintain straight lines even at the widest setting. It features a Hyper Sonic Motor (HSM) for fast focusing and a built-in petal-type lens hood to protect the large, curved front element.
