Pentax SFX
A pioneering 35mm autofocus SLR featuring a built-in TTL flash and Pentax KAF mount.
The Pentax SFX (known as the SF1 in some markets) was the first Pentax SLR to feature a built-in TTL flash and a comprehensive autofocus system. It uses the KAF mount, making it compatible with a vast range of Pentax lenses. The camera features a large top-plate LCD for settings and offers multiple exposure modes including program, shutter priority, and aperture priority.
Common issues with the SFX include the 'sticky shutter' syndrome caused by degraded internal bumpers, which SDS carefully inspects. The top LCD can also suffer from 'bleeding' over time. We verify the accuracy of the autofocus motor and the flash sync, as well as checking the battery compartment for any signs of historical leakage from the 2CR5 battery.
