Olympus OM-System Zuiko Auto-Macro 38mm f/2.8 - Olympus OM Mount

The OM-System Zuiko Auto-Macro 38mm f/2.8 is a dedicated macro lens designed for use with the Olympus OM Auto Bellows or extension tubes. Optimized for magnifications between 1.7x and 8x, it is a standard choice for photomacrography. Like other lenses in this series, it does not feature a built-in focusing mechanism, relying instead on the bellows for adjustment, which allows for a very compact and high-performance optical design. When buying used, the primary concern is the condition of the optics and the aperture mechanism. The aperture ring should click cleanly, and the internal blades must be free of oil. SDS checks the rear mount for any deformation that could prevent a light-tight seal with the bellows. Given its age, we also look for any signs of separation in the cemented elements, which can appear as a shimmering or 'oil-slick' effect inside the lens.
