Nikon Series E 36-72mm f/3.5 - Nikon F Mount

The Nikon Series E 36-72mm f/3.5 is a constant-aperture manual focus zoom lens. Part of the Series E line, it was designed to be more affordable and compact than the professional Nikkor range while maintaining a respectable f/3.5 maximum aperture throughout the zoom range. It uses a one-touch (push-pull) design for both zooming and focusing. On used examples, the push-pull mechanism often develops 'zoom creep', where the barrel slides under its own weight; SDS checks that the tension remains sufficient for practical use. We also inspect the internal optics for haze, which can occur more frequently in these early zoom designs, and ensure the aperture blades remain clean and responsive.
