Nikon Nikkor 50mm f/1.2 Ai-S - Nikon F Mount

The Nikkor 50mm f/1.2 Ai-S is the final evolution of Nikon's fastest manual-focus prime lens. Distinguished by its 9-bladed diaphragm, it produces smoother circular bokeh highlights compared to the earlier Ai version. The Ai-S designation ensures compatibility with the programmed exposure modes on later Nikon film SLRs. Its all-metal construction and large front glass element make it a favourite for both tactile operation and low-light performance. Focusing should be smooth and fluid; any stiffness usually indicates the internal grease has dried out. SDS inspects the aperture blades for oil residue, which can slow down the stop-down mechanism.
