Nikon AF-S DX Nikkor 12-24mm f/4G IF-ED - Nikon F Mount

The AF-S DX Nikkor 12-24mm f/4G IF-ED was Nikon's first ultra-wide zoom designed specifically for DX-format digital SLRs. Providing an equivalent focal range of 18-36mm, it maintains a constant f/4 maximum aperture throughout the zoom range. It features Extra-low Dispersion (ED) glass elements to minimise chromatic aberrations and a Silent Wave Motor (SWM) for quiet, fast autofocus. It is a robustly built lens suitable for architectural photography and wide-angle landscapes. Used examples should be checked for the responsiveness of the SWM, as older AF-S motors can occasionally develop a high-pitched squeak or become intermittent. SDS ensures the zoom action is fluid across the entire range and that the internal optics are clear of fungus. The rubber zoom and focus rings can sometimes expand or become loose over time, so these are inspected for a secure fit. The gold lettering on the barrel is also a common area for cosmetic wear.
