Minolta 16 Model P
A subminiature 16mm film camera with a fixed-focus lens and simplified exposure controls.
The Minolta 16 Model P is a subminiature camera that uses 16mm film loaded in proprietary cassettes. Released in the 1960s, it features a fixed-focus 25mm f/3.5 Rokkor lens and a simplified weather-symbol exposure system. The Model P was designed for ease of use, providing a more accessible entry point into the subminiature format compared to the more complex 16 II or MG models.
Look for clear optics, as these small lenses can be prone to internal haze. The shutter mechanism is simple but should be checked for consistent speeds. SDS inspects the aperture blades for oil and ensures the sliding case mechanism, which often protects the lens, operates smoothly. Note that 16mm film cassettes are rare and often require DIY reloading.
