Mamiya 645J

The Mamiya 645J is a simplified version of the original M645, designed as an entry-level professional medium format SLR. It retains the 6x4.5cm format and the high-quality Mamiya Sekor C lens mount but lacks some features found on the standard model, such as the depth-of-field preview lever and the secondary shutter release button. It features an electronic focal-plane shutter and uses the same film inserts as the M645, providing an affordable gateway into the Mamiya ecosystem. Used examples should be checked for the same issues as the M645, specifically the degradation of foam light seals and mirror bumpers. The electronic shutter requires a 6V battery to function; we verify that speeds are accurate and the battery check light is operational. The film advance should be tested to ensure there are no issues with frame spacing. We also inspect the viewfinder for any dust or silvering issues common to the interchangeable prism finders often paired with this body.
