Irix 15mm f/2.4 Firefly - Canon EF
Irix 15mm f/2.4 Firefly Canon EF is a manual-focus wide-angle prime lens with a fast f/2.4 aperture. It sits in Irix’s more affordable Firefly line, using a lighter, simpler build than the premium Blackstone version while keeping the same core optical concept for full-frame Canon EF cameras. The 15mm field of view suits landscapes, interiors, astro and architecture, and the very wide angle gives strong perspective effects when you work close to the subject. As a fully manual lens, it relies on the photographer for focus and aperture setting, which many users of this focal length prefer for deliberate composition and consistent exposure control. The optical design is widely regarded for solid sharpness stopped down, with the extreme corners improving as the aperture closes, and the lens is a popular choice for night sky work thanks to the fast aperture and rectilinear rendering. Used buyers should check that the focusing ring turns smoothly, the aperture mechanism is clean and snappy, and that the front and rear elements are free from haze, fungus, scratches or heavy coating wear. Also inspect the mount for wear and ensure the lens cap, hood and any filter accessories are present.
