Irix 15mm f/2.4 Blackstone - Canon EF
Irix 15mm f/2.4 Blackstone Canon EF is a manual-focus wide-angle prime lens with a fast f/2.4 aperture. Built for full-frame Canon EF bodies, it is aimed at landscape, architecture and astrophotography users who want a compact ultrawide with modern optical corrections and solid handling. The Blackstone version uses a more rugged construction than the Firefly line, with a tougher exterior, better sealing and a sturdier feel in the hand. Like other Irix lenses, it offers a long focus throw for precise manual work, and the 15mm view is very wide without being fisheye-like, making it useful for interiors and dramatic foreground compositions. Optically, this model is known for strong centre sharpness once stopped down, with generally controlled distortion for such a wide lens and decent close-focus versatility. As there is no autofocus, condition checks on the used market should focus on smooth focus and aperture ring operation, clean optics, absence of haze, fungus and internal dust, intact hood and caps, and any damage or looseness around the Canon EF mount.
