Irix 11mm f/4 Firefly - Canon EF
Irix 11mm f/4 Firefly Canon EF is an ultra-wide manual-focus prime for full-frame Canon EF cameras. It is known for its very wide 126° diagonal field of view, making it useful for landscapes, architecture and tight interior spaces where straight lines and strong perspective control matter. The Firefly version keeps the same optical formula as the Blackstone sibling but uses a lighter construction, with a polycarbonate external finish and a more modest feature set to reduce cost and weight. Optical performance is generally regarded as strong for such an extreme focal length, with good centre sharpness and controlled chromatic aberration when stopped down, while the built-in petal hood helps protect the large front element. Like most lenses at this angle, careful technique is needed to avoid unwanted skewed verticals and foreground exaggeration. The focus ring is large and suitably damped for precise manual work, and the lens is a practical choice for users who do not need autofocus or zoom flexibility. On the used market, check the front and rear elements for scratches or coating marks, inspect for haze or fungus, and make sure the focus ring and aperture mechanism move smoothly without binding or excessive play.
