The internal zoom and focus design means the physical length of the lens does not change during operation, aiding balance on gimbals. When buying used, test the power zoom rocker and the variable speed zoom ring to ensure responsiveness and smooth travel. SDS checks the electronic communication between the lens and body, as the zoom is entirely wire-driven.
