It is the first RF prime to utilise the Voice Coil Motor (VCM) combined with a Nano USM, providing exceptionally fast and quiet autofocus. The lens includes a dedicated iris ring for video work and two customisable lens function buttons. It is built to L-series standards, offering dust and water resistance for professional use.
Ensure the iris ring and custom buttons are fully functional when inspecting a used model. Check for any signs of heavy use on the barrel and ensure the rear weather seal is in good condition.
