Canon EOS RT
A unique 35mm SLR with a fixed pellicle mirror and EF lens mount.
The EOS RT is a specialised 35mm SLR based on the EOS 600/630 chassis, featuring a fixed semi-transparent pellicle mirror. Unlike standard SLRs, the mirror does not move during exposure, resulting in a near-zero shutter lag of 8ms and the ability to see the subject at the moment of capture. It uses the Canon EF mount and offers a maximum shutter speed of 1/2000 second.
The pellicle mirror is extremely delicate; it must never be touched or cleaned with harsh chemicals, as the coating is easily damaged. SDS inspects the mirror for scratches or pinholes that could affect image quality. The 'black gunk' shutter issue common in 80s EOS bodies is also a priority check; we ensure the shutter blades are clean and the timing remains accurate.
