Vivitar 24mm f/2.8 - Canon FD
Vivitar 24mm f/2.8 is a manual wide-angle prime lens with a classic compact build. Exact mount and optical formula vary by version, so buyers should verify the mount carefully before purchase. As a 24mm lens, it gives a broad field of view suited to landscapes, travel, street scenes and general environmental shooting, with the f/2.8 aperture offering workable low-light use and some control over background separation at close distances. Vivitar-branded lenses from this era are often straightforward, all-mechanical designs that appeal to users who value simple handling and compatibility with older film bodies or adapted digital cameras, but performance can differ significantly between copies and manufacturers. On the used market, check the front and rear elements for haze, fungus, cleaning marks and edge separation, make sure the aperture blades are dry and snappy, and inspect focus smoothness for stiffness or play. Also confirm the mount is correct and that any adapter fit is secure and free from excessive wear.
