Tamron 28-300mm f/3.5-6.3 Di VC PZD - Sony A
Tamron 28-300mm f/3.5-6.3 Di VC PZD is a full-frame zoom lens with a huge travel-friendly range. It was designed as an all-in-one option for DSLR users who want one lens to cover wide-angle, portrait and telephoto work without swapping glass. VC image stabilisation helps at the long end, while the PZD autofocus motor is compact and usually quiet, though not as fast or confident as pro-grade telephoto zooms. Like most superzooms, optical performance is strongest in the middle of the range and more variable at 300mm and wide open, with some softness and distortion being normal trade-offs for the convenience it offers. The lens is relatively light for its class and takes 67mm filters, which keeps accessories inexpensive and easy to source. It suits travellers, casual shooters and anyone prioritising convenience over maximum sharpness. On the used market, check for smooth zoom action, accurate autofocus, VC operation, haze, dust and fungus, and any wear to the mount or front filter threads.
