The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-P7 is a 3.2-megapixel digital camera featuring a 3x optical zoom lens housed in a slim, distinctive chassis. It was designed as a more compact alternative to the P71, utilizing the smaller NP-FC11 battery. It produces images with the characteristic colour science of early 2000s Sony CCD sensors and includes a bright optical viewfinder, which is useful for shooting in direct sunlight when the LCD is difficult to see.
Check the battery compartment for clean contacts and ensure the Memory Stick door snaps shut securely. The P7 can be prone to CCD failure; if the image appears distorted or black, the sensor may be faulty. SDS tests the zoom motor for consistency and checks that all menu icons are legible and the buttons respond without delay.
