Sirui Saturn 50mm T2.9 1.6x Anamorphic Blue Flare - Sony FE
Sirui Saturn 50mm T2.9 1.6x Anamorphic Blue Flare is a compact cine prime lens with a distinctive widescreen look. This full-frame anamorphic lens uses a 1.6x squeeze to produce a noticeably wider image and oval bokeh, while the blue flare version gives a more stylised, high-contrast streaking flare in strong light. The 50mm focal length sits in the classic natural-perspective range for dialogue, portraits and controlled handheld work, and the T2.9 maximum aperture offers a usable balance between low-light capability and depth control. Saturn lenses are known for their relatively small, lightweight construction for anamorphics, making them easier to rig on gimbals and compact cinema setups than many larger alternatives. As a manual cine lens, it is designed for deliberate focus pulling rather than autofocus shooting, with cine-style handling that suits video-first users and independent filmmakers. When buying used, check the front and rear elements carefully for haze, scratches and cleaning marks, ensure the focus and aperture rings move smoothly, and inspect the mount for wear or looseness. Also confirm the optics are free from fungus, separation or internal dust that could affect contrast and flare behaviour.
