The Sigma SD9 was the first digital SLR to feature the Foveon X3 sensor technology, capturing full colour data at every pixel location. Built with a Sigma SA mount, this APS-C camera produces images with a distinct, film-like quality and high micro-contrast, though it requires Sigma Photo Pro software to process the proprietary X3F RAW files. It is powered by a combination of CR123A batteries for the electronics and AA batteries for the camera functions.
