Sigma MC-11 Mount Converter Canon EF to Sony E
Sigma MC-11 is a Canon EF to Sony E mount adapter for Sigma and compatible EF lenses. Released in 2014, it lets photographers and videographers use Canon EF glass on Sony E-mount bodies while retaining electronic communication for aperture control, EXIF data and in-body stabilisation support on compatible cameras. Its strongest appeal is for users with an existing EF lens kit who want to move to Sony mirrorless without replacing everything at once. Autofocus performance depends heavily on the lens and body combination, and Sigma’s own Global Vision EF lenses generally perform best, while some third-party or older lenses may have reduced compatibility or slower focus behaviour. The adapter is compact and well made, with a metal lens mount on both sides and a simple, professional finish rather than a bulky smart-converter design. It is aimed more at practical system transition than image alteration, so it does not add optics or change focal length. Used buyers should check for clean electronic contacts, secure mount fit, smooth locking, intact release buttons and any signs of impact or loose play, and confirm that autofocus, aperture control and stabilisation work correctly with the intended lens and camera body.
