Sony SEL20TC Teleconverter
Sony SEL20TC is a 2.0x teleconverter for compatible Sony E-mount telephoto lenses. It doubles focal length while reducing maximum aperture by two stops, making it useful for wildlife, sport and distant subjects when extra reach matters more than absolute brightness. The unit is a compact all-black accessory with weather-sealed construction and internal optical elements designed to preserve AF and metering with supported lenses, though real-world speed and edge performance still depend heavily on the host lens. Compared with the 1.4x model, it gives noticeably more reach but asks more of the lens and camera in terms of light and sharpness, so it suits photographers who know their lens can tolerate the trade-off. In use it adds little bulk and keeps the overall kit more portable than switching to a longer prime or zoom, which is part of its appeal for Sony users who already own the right glass. Used buyers should check the mounts for wear, confirm smooth attachment and release, inspect the optics for haze, scratches, dust or fungus, and make sure the sealing surfaces are intact and the aperture blades or rear elements of the mating lens are clean.
