The Samyang VDSLR 85mm T1.5 MK2 is an updated version of the classic cine-style portrait prime. This MK2 version introduces weather sealing and a 9-blade aperture for improved bokeh and circular highlights. It retains the standard 0.8 MOD gears and de-clicked aperture for video work. The lens is capable of covering full-frame sensors, providing a flattering perspective for close-up interviews and narrative shots.
On a used MK2 model, verify the condition of the weather-sealing gaskets at the mount. The de-clicked iris should move silently, and the focus gear should be free from chipped teeth.
