The Samyang 35mm T1.5 VDSLR AS UMC II is a cine-optimised version of the popular 35mm prime. It features de-clicked aperture rings and industry-standard 0.8 MOD gearing on both the focus and iris rings for use with follow-focus systems. The optical design provides a fast T1.5 transmission, making it suitable for narrative filmmaking in challenging light. Lateral scales for both aperture and distance are marked on both sides of the barrel.
Inspect used VDSLR units for wear on the gear teeth and smoothness of the de-clicked iris. Any 'stepping' in the iris movement can affect video exposures. SDS checks that the glass is free from scratches and that the focus scales are accurate. We also ensure that the mounting plate remains secure under the torque of follow-focus motors.
