Samyang 35mm f/1.4 AS UMC - Canon EF
Samyang 35mm f/1.4 AS UMC Canon EF is a manual-focus full-frame prime with a fast f/1.4 aperture. It is known for solid metal-and-plastic construction, a large focus ring with a long throw, and straightforward optical performance that made it popular as a value alternative to native brand lenses. On Canon EF bodies it gives a natural wide-angle field of view for street, documentary, environmental portraits and low-light work, with good subject isolation at wider apertures. As with many Samyang designs of this era, it rewards careful manual focusing and suits users who do not need autofocus or lens communication. The lens uses 77mm filters and focuses down to 0.3 m, while its substantial 660 g weight means it feels more substantial than many compact 35mm options. Used buyers should check that the focus action is smooth, aperture blades are clean and snappy, and there is no haze, fungus, scratches or excessive play in the mount or focus ring.
