Olympus µ 770 SW

The Olympus µ (Mju) 770 SW is a ruggedised digital compact camera designed for extreme environments. It is shockproof from drops of up to 1.5m, waterproof down to 10m, and crushproof up to 100kg. It features a 7.1-megapixel sensor and a 3x optical zoom lens that is contained entirely within the body to maintain its weather-sealed integrity. A built-in manometer allows users to check depth and altitude while shooting. For used µ 770 SW units, the condition of the rubber seals on the battery and card doors is critical; we inspect these for perishing or grit that could compromise waterproofing. We test the buttons, which can sometimes become stiff or unresponsive due to salt or sand ingress. The internal lens assembly is checked for alignment, and the metal body is inspected for significant dents that might affect the crushproof rating. We also verify the accuracy of the depth sensor.
