The Olympus µ 1030 SW (also known as the Stylus 1030 SW) is a ruggedised compact camera designed for extreme environments. It is waterproof to 10 metres, shockproof from drops up to 2 metres, and crushproof to 100kg. It features a 10.1-megapixel sensor and a 3.6x optical zoom lens that remains entirely internal to the body to maintain its environmental sealing.
For any used waterproof camera, the integrity of the rubber seals on the battery and card compartment doors is critical. These should be clean and free from grit or cracks. SDS inspects the lens cover for scratches that might flare in sunlight and verifies that the internal zoom mechanism operates smoothly.
