Nikon Nikkor 24mm f/2 Ai-S
Nikon Nikkor 24mm f/2 Ai-S is a manual-focus wide-angle prime with a fast f/2 aperture. Built for Nikon F film and full-frame digital bodies, it offers a classic 24mm field of view with solid metal construction and a compact, balanced feel for an f/2 lens. It is entirely manual in operation, so focus and aperture are set on the lens, which many photographers still value for precise zone focusing, low-light shooting and a direct mechanical handling experience. Optically, it sits above slower 24mm designs in speed and subject isolation, while remaining a practical general-purpose wide-angle for travel, landscapes, street and environmental work. As an Ai-S lens it also works well on many Nikon F-mount DSLRs with manual exposure support, though metering compatibility varies by body. Used examples are generally attractive because of the robust build, but buyers should check the focusing action, aperture blades, front and rear element condition, internal haze, fungus, coating marks and mount wear, as well as smoothness of the aperture ring and any oil on the blades.
