Irix 15mm f/2.4 Blackstone - Nikon F
Irix 15mm f/2.4 Blackstone Nikon F is a manual-focus wide-angle prime with a fast f/2.4 aperture. Built around a solid metal-bodied Blackstone finish, it is aimed at photographers who want a very wide 15mm view with good edge-to-edge control for landscapes, architecture and astrophotography. The lens uses a Nikon F mount and is designed for full-frame use, with a focus ring that includes useful distance markings and an infinity lock for practical night work. Unlike smaller plastic-bodied ultra-wides, the Blackstone version is noticeably substantial in hand and is intended for frequent field use rather than light carry. Optical character is generally associated with strong centre sharpness, manageable distortion for the focal length and a bright aperture that helps in low light, though careful stopping down improves consistency across the frame. As a manual lens, it suits users comfortable focusing by eye or live view, and it can also appeal to video shooters who value simple, repeatable operation. When buying used, check the focus action, aperture blades, front and rear elements for haze, fungus or cleaning marks, and inspect the mount and filter threads for wear or impact damage.
