Tokina AT-X 28-70mm f/2.8 Pro - Nikon F
Tokina AT-X 28-70mm f/2.8 Pro is a Nikon F-mount standard zoom with a constant f/2.8 aperture. Built for full-frame film and digital bodies, it covers the classic 28-70mm range for general shooting, portraits and event work, with a solid metal-era feel that many users still rate for its robust construction. Autofocus is available on Nikon F versions, but it is an older design, so focus drive and handling feel more vintage than modern pro zooms. The lens offers a useful balance of speed and portability for a fast constant-aperture zoom, though it lacks image stabilisation and weather sealing. The 77mm filter thread and around 0.7m minimum focus distance are typical of this class, and it is well suited to photographers who want a straightforward, mechanically substantial fast zoom rather than a contemporary lightweight option. When buying used, check autofocus operation, aperture blade cleanliness and smooth zoom/focus rings, and inspect the optics carefully for haze, fungus, scratches and signs of heavy wear on the mount and front/rear elements.
