The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX1R is a variation of the original RX1, specifically omitting the optical low-pass filter (OLPF) to maximise resolution and fine detail. It retains the same 24.3-megapixel full-frame sensor and fixed 35mm f/2 Zeiss Sonnar T* lens. This model is favoured by landscape and architectural photographers who require the highest possible sharpness from the sensor, though it carries a slightly higher risk of moiré in certain patterns. Used units should be inspected for physical damage to the lens barrel and filter thread. Because the lens is fixed, SDS pays close attention to the internal optics for any signs of fungal growth or excessive internal dust. We also check the battery door latch and the responsiveness of the control dials, which can sometimes become stiff or intermittent with heavy use.
