The Sony Alpha SLT-A33 is an entry-level A-mount camera utilising Translucent Mirror Technology to achieve fast autofocus and a 7fps burst rate. It houses a 14.2-megapixel APS-C sensor and an electronic viewfinder, providing 100% frame coverage. The fixed-mirror design enables continuous phase-detection AF, making it more capable at tracking moving subjects than traditional DSLRs of the same era.
Prospective buyers should examine the translucent mirror for any marks or cleaning streaks, as these cannot be easily removed. The camera is prone to overheating during extended video recording, so the cooling performance should be noted.
