Sigma 150-500mm f/5-6.3 APO DG OS HSM - Canon EF

Sigma 150-500mm f/5-6.3 APO DG OS HSM Canon EF is a full-frame telephoto zoom with optical stabilisation. Built for reach rather than speed, it gives Canon EF users a broad 150-500mm range, making it useful for wildlife, sport and distant subjects where a modest aperture is acceptable. The HSM motor provides autofocus, and the OS system helps steady hand-held shots at the long end, although the lens is substantial in size and weight and is usually easier to use with support or a sturdy strap. As an older Sigma DG design, it was made for 35mm/full-frame coverage as well as APS-C bodies, and its 86mm filter size and 2.2m minimum focus distance are typical of a lens in this class. Image quality is generally strongest when stopped down a little, with the usual long-zoom compromises in edge performance and speed. On the used market, check that autofocus works smoothly, OS engages correctly, the zoom action is not overly loose, and that there is no haze, fungus, separation or excessive wear to the mount and tripod foot.
