Samyang AF 50mm f/1.4 FE - Sony E Mount

The Samyang AF 50mm f/1.4 FE is a fast standard prime lens designed for Sony full-frame mirrorless cameras. It features three aspherical elements to control aberrations and a nine-blade aperture for smooth background blur. The lens uses a linear ultrasonic motor for autofocus, making it suitable for both portraiture and general-purpose low-light photography where a shallow depth of field is required. When inspecting a used copy, the autofocus performance should be tested to ensure it is smooth and silent, as early firmware versions could occasionally hunt. We check the rear bayonet mount for secure fitment and examine the large front element for any scratches to the UMC coating. The rubberised focus ring is a known point for collecting dust, so its physical condition is thoroughly assessed during our quality checks.
