Sachtler Ace M MS
Sachtler Ace M MS is a video tripod system with a fluid head and aluminium legs. This mid-range support is aimed at compact camcorders and lighter DSLR or mirrorless video rigs, offering smooth pan and tilt resistance that is noticeably more refined than basic stills tripods. The Ace M head is designed for controlled, repeatable movements, while the MS version uses a mid-level spreader for a balance of stability and portability on uneven ground. It is a practical choice for solo shooters, run-and-gun work and small production kits that need a professional feel without the size and cost of heavier Sachtler systems. The tripod is not especially compact when folded, but it is robust and straightforward to set up, with a working height range suited to shoulder-level and standing operation. On the used market, check that the fluid drag moves evenly, the pan handle and locks secure properly, the leg locks hold firmly, and the spreader and feet show only normal wear. Confirm there is no play in the head, no damage to plates or mounting threads, and that any accessories or spare parts are present.
