The Pentax 645 is a medium format film SLR that brought automated features to the 6x4.5cm format. It features built-in motor drive, multiple exposure modes including Program and Aperture Priority, and an integrated LED readout in the viewfinder. It was designed for ergonomic handling, feeling more like a large 35mm SLR than a traditional modular medium format system.
Check the condition of the external battery grip, as the plastic can become brittle. The internal LCDs and LED displays are known to bleed or fade with age; SDS ensures these remain legible. We also verify the film inserts (120 or 220) for correct frame spacing and check that the mirror dampening foam hasn't perished, which can cause excessive vibration during exposure.
