Pentax 17

The Pentax 17 is a modern half-frame 35mm film camera, designed to appeal to a new generation of film enthusiasts. It produces 72 exposures on a standard 36-exposure roll by using a vertical 17x24mm format. It features a high-quality 25mm f/3.5 fixed lens (equivalent to 37mm in full-frame) and a zone-focusing system. The camera incorporates an automatic exposure system with several manual overrides, providing a balance between ease of use and creative control. As a relatively new release, used Pentax 17 units are generally in good mechanical condition. However, we check the zone-focusing ring for smooth movement and ensure the electronic exposure system is metering accurately. We verify that the film advance lever operates smoothly and that the pressure plate is clean to avoid scratching film. The battery compartment is checked for clean contacts, and the viewfinder is inspected for any manufacturing defects or internal dust.
