Olympus Pen EE-2

The Olympus Pen EE-2 is a classic half-frame 35mm film camera, originally released in the late 1960s. It features a fixed-focus 28mm f/3.5 D.Zuiko lens and a selenium meter 'eye' surrounding the lens, which powers the automatic exposure system without the need for batteries. As a half-frame camera, it produces 72 exposures on a standard 36-exposure roll of film, making it an economical choice for casual photography. The most critical component to check is the selenium meter; if it has failed, the camera will not expose correctly in 'Auto' mode. SDS tests this by checking if the 'red flag' appears in the viewfinder in low light. We also inspect the lens for fungus or haze and check that the aperture blades are free from oil. The light seals typically require replacement to prevent fogging on the film.
