Nikon AF-S 24-120mm f/4G ED VR
Nikon AF-S 24-120mm f/4G ED VR is a full-frame standard zoom with constant f/4, VR and autofocus. This lens is Nikon’s classic do-everything FX travel and event zoom, pairing a useful 24-120mm range with a constant aperture that makes exposure and depth of field more predictable than variable-aperture alternatives. Optically it is designed as a general-purpose workhorse rather than a specialist lens, so it suits landscapes, street, portraits and indoor use when you want one lens to cover most situations. The AF-S motor gives quiet, generally quick focusing on compatible Nikon F bodies, and Vibration Reduction helps steady handheld shots at the long end or in lower light. The 77mm filter thread keeps accessory compatibility straightforward, and the lens is a sensible size for the range it offers, though it is not especially light. On the used market, check the zoom and focus rings for smooth operation, inspect the front and rear elements for haze, fungus, scratches and coating marks, and make sure VR and autofocus work properly. Also look for loose mount wear, damage to the rubber seals, and any signs of internal dust or decentring affecting sharpness across the frame.
