Minolta X-300S

The Minolta X-300S is a streamlined version of the popular X-300, a 35mm SLR designed for students and newcomers to film photography. It features aperture-priority auto-exposure and manual modes, with a simplified LED readout in the viewfinder. It retains the standard Minolta SR mount, allowing it to be used with a wide array of high-quality manual focus lenses, and features a lightweight, largely plastic body for improved portability. The X-300S can suffer from the same capacitor issues found in many electronic Minolta SLRs; SDS verifies that the shutter fires consistently across all speeds. The plastic exterior is checked for cracks, particularly around the tripod mount and film door.
