Minolta Dynax 4

The Minolta Dynax 4 (known as the Maxxum 4 in North America) is a compact and lightweight 35mm SLR produced in the early 2000s. It features a fast autofocus system for its class, a built-in pop-up flash, and compatibility with the extensive range of Minolta A-mount lenses. It is an ideal entry point for film photography due to its fully automatic modes and intuitive controls, including a dedicated PASM dial. Used Dynax 4 bodies are predominantly plastic, so check for cracks around the battery door and the film door hinge. The 'sticky grip' syndrome is less common on this model than earlier Dynax units, but the rubber can still degrade. SDS tests the shutter accuracy and the film transport motor. Ensure the viewfinder information display is fully legible and the flash recycles promptly. Check the lens mount for any bent pins.
