Leitz Elmar-C 90mm f/4 - Leica M
Leitz Elmar-C 90mm f/4 Leica M is a compact manual-focus telephoto lens with a 90mm focal length and modest f/4 aperture. Built for the Leica M system, it is small and light for a medium telephoto, making it an easy carry for portraits, street detail and travel use. The Elmar-C name is associated with simple, no-frills construction rather than fast aperture or close-focus flexibility, and this lens’s appeal is its portability and straightforward handling on M bodies. Expect classic rangefinder operation with manual focus and manual aperture control, so it suits photographers who prefer deliberate framing over automation. As with any used Leica M lens of this age, check that focus turns smoothly with even damping, the aperture blades are clean and snappy, and the optics are free from haze, fungus, separation and excessive cleaning marks. Also inspect the bayonet mount for wear and make sure the rangefinder coupling is accurate across the focus range.
