The Leica Sofort is an instant film camera designed to use Instax Mini format film. It features a distinctive Leica design and offers several shooting modes, including Macro, Bulb, Self-timer, and Party & People. The camera provides manual control over focusing zones and exposure compensation, allowing for more creative input than standard instant cameras. It is powered by a rechargeable lithium-ion battery.
On used Sofort models, ensure the battery door is secure and the charging contacts are clean. SDS checks the internal rollers for chemical build-up, which can cause streaks on prints. The viewfinder should be clear, and the mechanical film ejection system must be tested to ensure it operates without jamming. Check that the flash fires correctly in all designated modes.
