Chinon 50mm f/1.9 Auto Chinon - Pentax K

Chinon 50mm f/1.9 Auto Chinon Pentax K is a manual-focus standard prime lens with a Pentax K mount and a modestly fast f/1.9 aperture. As a 50mm lens, it gives a natural perspective that suits general photography, street work and simple portrait use, and on film it would have been a classic normal lens. Chinon-branded K-mount lenses of this type were typically compact, light and straightforward, with simple mechanical handling and no modern electronics, making them a practical choice for users who value an uncomplicated optical experience. Compared with more common f/1.7 or f/2 versions, the f/1.9 sits in the middle ground: reasonably bright for low light, but usually more affordable and less demanding than faster designs. Exact optical formula and close-focus details vary by version and are not always consistently documented, so buyers should inspect the individual lens rather than assume identical specs across Chinon-branded 50mm models. On the used market, check the aperture blades for oil or sluggish movement, the focus ring for smoothness and even damping, and the front and rear elements for haze, fungus, scratches or cleaning marks; also confirm the K-mount flange and locking tab show no wear or damage.
