Chinon 135mm f/2.8 Auto Chinon - M42

Chinon 135mm f/2.8 Auto Chinon M42 is a manual-focus telephoto prime lens with a classic M42 screw mount. It sits in the long-established 135mm class that was popular for portraits, detail work and compressed perspective on 35mm film, and it should also adapt well to many modern mirrorless bodies with the right adapter. As an Auto Chinon lens, it is typically an aperture-automatic design for use on compatible bodies, with a straightforward mechanical feel rather than modern electronic control. Build quality on these Chinon-era primes is usually solid and compact, making them easy to carry and pleasant to use for careful focusing. Optical character is generally aimed at good central sharpness stopped down a little, with the usual vintage-lens rendering that can appeal for portraits and general telephoto use. Exact weight is not reliably documented here, so it is omitted. Used-market checks should include smooth focus rotation, clean aperture blades, clear glass with no haze or fungus, minimal internal dust, and unworn M42 threads or adapter fit.
